2023 marks the sixteenth anniversary of The UK Music Video Awards (UKMVAs) and LEAP’s ongoing post-production partnership with the premier celebration of global music video and music visuals. The UKMVAs has become the most important annual event in the world of music video production and as ever, LEAP is thrilled to play our part in its continuing success.
Event Director Louise Stevens says,
We look forward to this time of year and the chance to work with the amazing team of editors and producers at LEAP who bring our Awards show to life with their fantastic nominations’ packages, handling over 350 music video clips and working with the art campaign created by Studio Thomson, animator Jake Greenwood and sound designer Robert Simons. We’ve collaborated on this event together for so long now, it’s unthinkable to do it without LEAP – their attention to detail, technical expertise and love of the craft that has been poured into the work we’re celebrating helps to make sure we deliver a night to remember every year.
The UKMVAs celebrates the best work in music videos and music visuals made in the past 12 months – all voted for by professionals within the industry. The categories span a wide range of genres and budgets as well as creative and technical disciplines. Working closely with the UKMVA team, our motion graphics editors create the video packages for more than 35 categories and edit the opening montage. Whether it’s providing creative input by selecting video clips, joining the show’s elements together by applying the graphics, text and sound or balancing audio levels and providing the final quality assurance checks, LEAP helps the UKMVAs achieve high production values and maximum impact on the huge awards show screens.
As music video fans ourselves, our post-production team is delighted to help honour the creative people behind the artform – directors, producers, cinematographers, production designers, choreographers, colourists, editors, animators and VFX artists as well as commissioners and agents. This year, LEAP sponsors the Best New Director category, and we offer our congratulations to all of the shortlisted nominees.
