Every September, creatives and producers from all over the world descend on a charming fishing town in Ireland for the Kinsale Shark Awards. For its 57th year, the festival organisers wanted to create a printed programme that would mark a total departure from their previous editions, so they commissioned LEAP to provide design and printing services.
LEAP’s helpful account managers worked closely with esteemed Jury President Mark Denton and Festival Director Aisling White to ensure that the programme would meet their needs and expectations as the brief evolved. LEAP’s design team adapted Mark’s fantastic aquarium scene from the festival website’s home page to form the cover of the programme. Taking the aquarium’s colourful pebbles as an inspiration for the overall design template, LEAP created a colour-coded table of contents and pages to match the bright palette. The new A5 format makes it a handier size for festival attendees to carry around while the coloured pages make it easier to quickly (and cheerfully) locate useful information. LEAP’s design team also looked after the layout, production and proofreading of the contents.
With the festival’s emphasis on craft, the programme itself needed to be a well-thought-out expression of skill and quality. LEAP’s print team lent their expertise to select an uncoated, durable stock that would be pleasant to touch and allow the text and imagery to look their best. The exclusive digital print run of 350 copies was handled in our dedicated printworks and delivered to Kinsale within a quick turnaround time.
LEAP is pleased to be able to support The Shark Awards Kinsale as design and print production partners and as a sponsor of this brilliant festival of creativity.
