As part of his work portraying the brand story of The Royal St. George’s Golf Club, photographer Jason Livy commissioned LEAP to design and print a limited edition, premium quality coffee table book. Established in 1887, the course rivals St Andrew’s in Scotland and will host the 149th Open Championship in 2020. LEAP’s design and print teams worked closely with the photographer and the Club to craft a luxurious book that would showcase the beauty of the course and match the prestige of The Royal St. George’s Golf Club.
Royal St. George’s is set in the picturesque Kent countryside and Jason was able to capture hundreds of breathtaking shots of the 18 holes and Clubhouse, revealing the magic of the landscape in different lighting conditions. Our designers selected the best images that would work in harmony as a collection.
Our print and colour experts ran proofs and conducted tests on a range of paper stocks and sizes to determine which format would achieve the best results. Photographer Jason Livy and client, Robert Leigh, Assistant Secretary of St. George’s, signed off on the square, lay-flat book. Minimal copy was required in this design, allowing the images to take centre stage. Our specialist print facility in Woolwich printed the final product to the great acclaim of the members.
The book was made available for purchase in the Professional’s Shop, and the limited-edition copies have nearly sold out. As Jason scopes out the next golf club for luxurious photographic treatment, we look forward to further collaborations and exquisite coffee table book production.
