Clearing the way to Broadcast for Dior Forever Skin Foundation


LEAP has served as Dior’s advertising production partner for more than a decade. We are proud to have provided integrated production services to deliver so many of their campaigns in the UK across all sorts of media platforms. When Dior decided to run their first ever skincare ad on British TV, they knew Dior Forever New Generation Foundation would be in safe hands with LEAP’s beauty account directors and our versioning and clearance teams.

LEAP’s video post-production versioning team worked with the client’s master creative to make sure that it would meet the technical QC requirements and file specifications for UK TV broadcast and VOD streaming. But, before it could be delivered, our TV admin team would need to pave the way.

The UK has strict requirements and procedures before commercials can be cleared for broadcast. International brands rely on local market experts like LEAP to help them navigate the complexities of the versioning, clearance, and delivery process. Skincare commercials which make claims about a product’s effectiveness are required to supply evidence backing those claims. This enables the ASA (Advertising Standards Authority) to judge whether ads are suitable for broadcast or if they need to be revised to avoid misleading the public. LEAP’s dedicated account managers ensured the approvals and clearance process ran smoothly and our clients were kept informed of progress.

Commercials like Dior Forever Foundation often have superimposed text to satisfy the legal requirements for product information and claims. LEAP’s post-production team is well versed in finding that delicate balance between producing text supers that meet the size, legibility, and on-screen duration requirements without being too much of a distraction from the ad itself.

The final step was to deliver the adapted commercial to our broadcast playout partner on time and in accordance with the specifications of the client’s media plan, thereby avoiding the dreaded late copy fees.
